3. Bookings, Prices, and Payment

  • Pricing: All prices are quoted in Euros (€) and include VAT at the applicable legal rate. Prices are subject to seasonal changes (e.g., winter vs. summer rates). The price confirmed at the time of booking is the final price.

  • Child Rates: Discounted rates apply to children aged 6 to 12. Babies and toddlers aged 0 to 5 travel at a special rate or free of charge, depending on the specific tour. Proof of age may be required on the day of the excursion.

  • Payment: Full payment is required at the time of booking to secure your reservation, unless a specific group arrangement has been made directly with our commercial team.

4. Cancellations and Amendments by the Client

  • Standard Cancellation: Customers may cancel their booking up to 48 hours before the scheduled departure time for a full refund.

  • Late Cancellation & No-Shows: Cancellations made within 48 hours of the departure time, or failure to arrive at the designated meeting point on time (no-shows), will result in a 100% cancellation fee. No refunds will be issued.

  • Amendments: Requests to change the date of a tour must be made at least 48 hours in advance and are subject to availability.

5. Cancellations and Route Alterations by Riosultravel

  • Weather and Tides: Our Guadiana River Cruises and Jeep Safaris are subject to weather, river tides, and off-road conditions. Riosultravel reserves the right to cancel, alter, or shorten any itinerary for safety reasons.

  • Minimum Passenger Numbers: Certain tours may require a minimum number of participants to operate. If this number is not met, we reserve the right to cancel the tour.
  • Refunds for Company Cancellations: In the event that Riosultravel must cancel a tour prior to departure, customers will be offered a choice between a fully equivalent alternative date or a full refund.

  • Itinerary Changes: We reserve the right to substitute vehicles, vessels, or specific stops (such as adjusting the route of the Moorish Trail) if required by operational, safety, or logistical necessities.

6. Health, Safety, and Conduct

  • Off-Road Safaris: Our Jeep Safaris involve travelling in 4×4 Land Rovers over rough, uneven, and bumpy terrain. These tours are strictly not recommended for pregnant women, individuals with severe back, neck, or spinal issues, or children under the age of 3.

  • Right of Refusal: For the safety and comfort of all passengers and our crew, Riosultravel reserves the right to refuse boarding or to terminate the participation of any customer who appears to be under the influence of drugs or excessive alcohol, or who exhibits aggressive, abusive, or unsafe behaviour. No refunds will be given under these circumstances.

  • Safety Briefings: All passengers must strictly adhere to the safety instructions provided by our guides, drivers, and boat crew at all times.

7. Pick-up Services and Punctuality

  • Customers utilising our transport service must be waiting at the agreed pick-up location 10 minutes prior to the scheduled time.

  • Customers making their own way to our departure point (Riosultravel Kiosk, Vila Real de Santo António) must arrive at least 15 minutes before departure.

  • Our vehicles and boats run on a strict schedule. We cannot delay departures for late arrivals, and missed departures are treated as non-refundable no-shows.

8. Personal Belongings and Liability

  • Customers are entirely responsible for their personal belongings (including cameras, mobile phones, sunglasses, and clothing) throughout the tour.

  • Riosultravel accepts no liability for the loss, theft, or damage of personal items, either on our vessels, in our vehicles, or at our Quinta do Rio property.

9. Insurance

In strict compliance with Portuguese law for Travel Agencies and Maritime-Tourist activities, Riosultravel holds all mandatory insurances, including Civil Liability and Personal Accident insurance, covering our passengers for the duration of our tours. These policies are strictly regulated and approved by the Autoridade de Supervisão de Seguros e Fundos de Pensões (ASF).

Furthermore, to guarantee the protection of our customers’ funds in the event of insolvency, Riosultravel contributes to the Travel and Tourism Guarantee Fund (FGVT), managed by Turismo de Portugal.

During our tours, our staff may take photographs or videos for promotional purposes on our website or social media. If you or members of your party do not wish to be photographed, please inform your guide or a member of our team at the beginning of the tour.

11. Complaints and Governing Law
