APAVT Membership:
Riosultravel is a proud member of APAVT – Associação Portuguesa de Agências de Viagens e Turismo (Portuguese Association of Travel Agencies and Tourism). Membership in APAVT is a guarantee to the consumer, and only APAVT members have access to the Ombudsman for Customer services.
Authorized Activities:
Only companies with a Travel and Tourism Agency license issued by Turismo de Portugal, I.P. may organize package tours, book accommodations and transportation, represent other national or foreign companies, foreign tour operators, or provide any kind of intermediation, including reception, transfer, or tourist assistance.
No travel and tourism company can initiate or continue their activities without fulfilling the guarantees required by law, including civil liability insurance and a bond.
Reservations and Refunds:
At the time of booking, the customer must make an initial payment equivalent to 25% of the travel price, settling the remaining 75% up to 21 days before departure. If the registration takes place 21 days or less before the departure date, the customer must make full payment. Reservations for national or local excursions require an initial payment of 50%, with the remaining amount to be paid up to 24 hours before departure. Riosultravel – Agência de Viagens e Actividades Marítimo-Turísticas Lda, reserves the right to cancel any registration for which payment has not been made according to the conditions mentioned.
Note that services canceled within less than 24 hours before departure will not be refunded.

VAT is included in the prices shown, unless otherwise stated.
Responsibility:
The responsibility of the Travel Agency Riosultravel, arising from the obligations assumed, is guaranteed by a civil liability insurance of €75,000.00 with the Tranquilidade insurance company, policy number 8900702997, and secured through a bank guarantee from Millennium BCP. The maritime and touristic activity is covered up to €250,000.00 with Seguros Mutua, under current legislation.
In cases where Riosultravel – Agência de Viagens e Actividades Marítimo-Turísticas Lda, (License No. 511/86), acts as an intermediary between its clients and the transport company and other service providers, it cannot be held liable for any damages resulting from the cancellation or delay of excursions. In these circumstances, Riosultravel – Agência de Viagens e Actividades Marítimo-Turísticas Lda, cannot be held liable under any circumstances for damages resulting from death or personal injury, loss, or damage to personal belongings during excursions.
Dispute Resolution:
Any disputes arising from this contract will be settled in the Court of Vila Real de Santo António, in accordance with Portuguese law.
Alternative Dispute Resolution:
The Dispute Resolution Center is owned by a non-profit private association and is comprised of the following components:
A Legal and Mediation Service, which provides information, mediates conflicts, and guides processes towards the arbitration phase.
An Arbitration Tribunal, consisting of a single judge who assesses and resolves conflicts through binding decisions, in accordance with the law or equity, if both parties agree to it.
Arbitration is generally voluntary, and companies can opt for arbitration on a generic basis.
Arbitration is mandatory for the Essential Public Services sector (provision of electricity, electronic communications, public water supply, wastewater collection and treatment, solid urban waste management, natural gas supply, liquefied petroleum gas, and postal services) when consumers choose this option.
